The more things change…

Can you tell when this photo was taken? I’ll give you a hint, it was either today (while walking to the office) or it’s a stock photo from 100 years ago. It’s difficult to tell, isn’t it? The same is true when you are talking about the challenges facing your business.

A hundred years ago it was managing growth and technological change which never really slowed down after the 2nd Industrial Revolution. Business owners had to figure out how to incorporate new technologies and machinery, train staff, and figure out how best to use both to improve efficiency and grow their business.

Fast forward to today and not much has changed. Certainly the technology has changed, but the underlying challenges remain the same. How can we leverage new technologies, get the most from our staff, and make them all work together to grow your business, become more efficient, and ultimately more profitable?

This is the question we all face (myself included) when running our businesses. It may seem like a daunting challenge. But if done correctly, and if approached with a mindset of solving your businesses challenges rather than simply managing your technology, it’s not insurmountable.

What are the challenges facing your business? Do you use a technology that has proven invaluable as you work to solve them? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
